Petra & Sol was born in Guatemala from a love of fragrance, design, and the little details that make a space feel like home.

What began as a creative project between siblings, Diego and Carmen, has grown into a family-run brand shaped by the people, ideas, and hands behind every candle we create.

Today, Petra & Sol is a small but growing team, thoughtfully involved in every part of the process — from developing blends and pouring candles to designing vessels, creating packaging, and preparing each order.

We make candles and home fragrance in small batches, combining carefully selected fragrances with thoughtfully designed vessels and an aesthetic that feels as beautiful unlit as it does when glowing.

 

The meaning behind

Two elements. One feeling.

Petra comes from the Greek word pétra, meaning rock or stone — a reflection of the concrete vessel that gives each candle its foundation. It represents strength, grounding, permanence, and the beauty of something thoughtfully made to last beyond the flame.

Sol means sun in Spanish — the light, warmth, and energy that a candle brings into a space. It represents brightness, joy, life, and all the beautiful qualities we associate with light.

Together, Petra & Sol represents the balance between earth and light, foundation and warmth, form and feeling.

The vessel holds the flame.
The flame brings the light.
And together, they create the atmosphere that makes a moment feel like home.
